Edwin Roy Steel OCTOBER 17, 1947 – JULY 24, 2018 Beloved husband of the late Patricia Steel (nee Leeman) and cherished father to Elizabeth (Jim) and Michelle (Scott). Adored grandpa to James (Tavia), Ashley (Jimmie), Rebecca (Wesley), Austin (Ally), Jordan and Tyler. Loving Papa to Caitlyn and James. Dearest brother of Kenneth , Robert and predeceased by Johanna and George. He will be deeply missed by his aunt , uncles , nieces , nephews and in-laws.
Edwin was a member of the Stelco Fishing Club and the Moose Lodge of Hamilton. He will always be remembered for his love of travelling , cooking and fishing. Special thanks to Bayshore Nursing & Para Med and LIHN for their excellent in home care. Special mention to Sandy, Gail, Holly , Luc, Julie and Dr. Winemaker for their compassionate care.

GEORGE, David Bruce December 27, 1958 – July 9, 2018 It is with shock and the deepest sorrow that Dave’s parents, Don and Barbara George, announce the untimely death of our beloved son in his 60th year – suddenly, in his home. He will be sorely missed by his son Jason, and his grandchildren Aidan and Grazelyn, and by his dear sister Heather, and her children James and Jessica. He was predeceased by his other sister, Carol, in 2001. Dave worked at Stelco for over 30 years, before retiring in 2005. Fishing was one of the joys of his life. He will be missed by his many friends and acquaintances. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 – 9 p.m. at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME , 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, where the Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. Reception to follow. BADKE, Victor (Withold) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Victor Badke at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 in his 89th year. Beloved husband for 61 years of Benita (Mielke). Cherished and respected father of Sylvia (Lorenzo) Binotto and Edward (Nadia). Adored Opa of Felicia, Monica, Sarah and Adele. Dear brother of Eugenie (Herbert) Fischer. Predeceased by his parents Otto and Wanda Badke, his sister Irene and brother-in-law Stefan Mayer and nephew Charles. He will also be greatly missed by nieces, nephews, friends and family members in Canada and Germany. Since immigrating to Canada in 1951, Victor was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. DOHERTY, Michael December 14, 1954 – May 23, 2018 With great sadness we announce the passing of Michael at St. Peters Hospital. A loving husband to Karen, father to Melissa, Justin (Meg) and so happy to be a grandpa to Parker. Will be missed by numerous friends and family. Brother to Susan (Doug), brother-in-law to Don (Jane), Kathy (Steve) and son-in-law to Eilean Ross. A man of many talents who loved to carve songbirds and ducks, master of telling jokes and stories, and could repair almost anything around the house. A proud member of Local 1005 Steelworkers. Thank you to all our family, friends and caregivers for the love and support given to us through his illness. Visitation will be held at PX Dermody Funeral Home, 796 Upper Gage Ave., on Monday, May 28 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At Michael’s request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation to follow.
