GOULD, Joseph (Joe) December 6, 1956- February 7, 2019 After a heroic battle with cancer, we sadly announce the passing of Joe, much loved son of Bill and Marianne (deceased) Gould, brother to Becky (Steve Gane), uncle to Nathan Jess (Kylie Maheu). He will be greatly missed by many friends and family. Joe was a millwright at Stelco for many years, where he made several lasting friendships. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at Wellspring Church, 4457 New St.

WHITTLE, John It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Whittle on January 6, 2019 in his 87th year. Loving husband of Connie for 65 years. Loving father to Patricia (Jim), Paul (Francesca) and Mark. Cherished Papa to Drew, Shannon, Tiffany, Carley, Courtney and Jamie (Melissa) and great-grandfather to Aislyn and Bryce. Special thanks and gratitude to Paul and Francesca for their love and devotion and to the Walmsley family for their friendship. McINTYRE, John Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, January 5th in his 89th year. Beloved husband of the late Sylvia McIntyre, and companion of Marjory McLean. Dear father of Brian (Lorna) and the late Brenda Szabo (Larry). Beloved grandfather of Andrew (Jayde) and Justin (Jolene). Great-grandfather of Adelaide and Angus. Born on April 28, 1929 to father Angus and mother Mary in Glasgow Scotland, John moved to Ontario, Canada with his wife Sylvia and young baby daughter Brenda in 1954. An electrician by trade, John lived and contributed his time to many groups and projects at St. Elizabeth Village for the last 35 years, including the rebuilding of The Stations Of The Cross. He will be missed by his many friends and colleagues. There will be a private family ceremony in the near future at the White Chapel Cemetery.

FIELDING, William “Bill”
FIELDING, William “Bill” Unexpectedly passed away at his home on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the age of 62. Predeceased by his parents Derrick and Louise Fielding. Loved and sadly missed by his five siblings, 10 nieces and nephews and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. Longtime employee of Stelco. Bill was not a fan of crowds but made exceptions for family gatherings, and enjoyed theatre and the movies. He will be remembered for his kindness, humour and generosity. Cremation has taken place. ARNOLD, Robert “Bob” 1948-2019 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bob Arnold announces his passing at the age of 70 peacefully at home. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Evelyn Arnold and wife Lynda (nee Winegarden). Devoted father to Darren (Stacey), Kelly (Mike) and Allison (Mike). He will be deeply missed by Wendy Farkas and her children Paul (Lindy), Stacey (Stu) and Steve (Jessica). Special grandfather to Jennifer (Chris), Ryder, Koen and Charlie-Scout. He leaves behind his siblings Glen (Elaine) and Bill (Brenda). Son-in-law of Maurita DeLuca, brother-in-law of Larry Winegarden (Nancy), and Gale Adam. CHIKOSKI, Randolph Wayne (Randy)

After a short and valiant battle with lung cancer on Saturday, December 29, 2018 in his 70th year. Randy will be missed by his beloved wife Donna. Father to Barry, Dana, Shawn (Lena), Kerri (John) and Lisa (Fred). Loving papa to Nicholas, Emily, Kyle and James. Beloved son of Annie (predeceased). Dear brother of Joyce (Rick) and Stanley (predeceased). He will be fondly remembered by his best friend of 55 years Harry Whalen along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Cuddles will be missed from his babies Buster, Billy, Tucker, Misty, Marley and Chynna Doll. Randy retired from Stelco after 33 years of service. He was an active member of the Moose Lodge #1142 and #132. At Randy’s request a private cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the Moose Lodge #1142, at 1860 Barton Street East on Sunday, January 20, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Donations in memory of Randy may be made to Moose Charities, Endowment Fund.

MCKAY, Lloyd Albert

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Albert McKay on December 12, 2018 in his 88th year.

Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Beverley Jean McKay. Loving father to Bradley McKay (Karen), Barry McKay (Lorrie) and Carin Hill (John). Grandfather to Jeff McKay (Tracy), Sean Hill (Sara), Tyler McKay, Evan McKay (Carissa), Michael Hill (Amelia), Valerie Hill (Allan) and Spencer McKay (Christina). Proud great-grandfather to Beckett and Felix McKay, Audrey Hill and Jude Hill. Predeceased by his brothers, Robert MacKay and Stewart MacKay.

Lloyd will always be remembered for his service as a gunner in the Korean War (Special Forces Unit), his long time employment at Stelco Hilton Works, the many marathons he completed and his zeal in the sport of hockey, baseball, bowling, skiing and golf.

The family wishes to thank the staff and nurses at the Welland Hospital – 6th floor, with special thanks to Rhonda, and both Ashleys.

He will be greatly missed by his family who are feeling very fortunate to have had him in our lives.

We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our dearly beloved father and grandpa. Edward was born in Stirling, Scotland on February 17, 1932 and died peacefully at home on December 3, 2018. He is now reunited with his loving ‘Ali’, his wife of 57 years. Cherished father of Lynne (Alan) Jones, Sandra (Eric) France and Yvonne (Jim) Sutherland-Case. Proud grandpa of Gillian (Bill) Ceaser, Kyle, Claire, Shane, Declan, and Maeve and great-grandpa of Reese. Will be missed by extended family and friends in Canada and Scotland. Eddie immigrated to Canada in 1957 and worked at Stelco from 1959 – 1984. As a life time union activist, Ed served as a recording secretary for Local 1005 USWA. He was a very proud member of the Korean War Veterans Association of Canada Unit 26, serving with the British Army in Korea for 5 years. Ed was a 59 year member of the St. Andrew’s Lodge 593. He was an avid outdoorsman who instilled a love of nature and compassion for all living things in his family. Our dad was an honourable man with a kind and gentle soul, but beyond all else, he loved his family with a fierce sense of pride. Edwin Roy Steel
Edwin Roy Steel OCTOBER 17, 1947 – JULY 24, 2018 Beloved husband of the late Patricia Steel (nee Leeman) and cherished father to Elizabeth (Jim) and Michelle (Scott). GEORGE, David Bruce December 27, 1958 – July 9, 2018 It is with shock and the deepest sorrow that Dave’s parents, Don and Barbara George, announce the untimely death of our beloved son in his 60th year – suddenly, in his home.
